Good news!
We won't be closing our blogs after all. I've discovered (the hard way) that the best way for people to subscribe to our new weekly movies is to subscribe through their blogs rather than the main page, so we'll keep the blogs going.

Classic Cinema Online will be closing this blog permanantly starting March 7, 2008.
Please visit our main website at www.classiccinemaonline.com to view our latest silent films.
You can access the silent films of the week by scrolling to the bottom of the page and clicking on the "silent films" tab.
I will be creating a special drop down menu in the menu bar so that you can access all of our current silent films.
I will try to get a RSS feed subscription button up for you as well so you can resubscribe to the foreign films.

This Week at Classic Silent Films Theater
There are two ways to enjoy Classic Silent Films Theater. You can access the current weeks' silent features in the Featured Films slider at the bottom of our home page by clicking on the "Silent Films" tab, or directly from the menu bar on the right side of this blog's page.

Welcome to Classic Silent Films Theater!
Welcome to Classic Silent Films Theater, brought to you by Classic Cinema Online.
Silent films are a long forgotten yet very important part of entertainment history, and I'm glad to see interest in them being renewed.
These pieces are a window to our past, showing a bit of culture, fashion, and technology of the times. They also show social trends of the time, as well, and while fads and phrases have changed throughout the years, we see that some things remain do the same.
Of special interest to me are the acting abilities of silent performers. How many modern day actors and actresses can accomplish such performance with any measure of success? It would be interesting to see.
In fact -- if there are any budding film makers out there who would like to create modern silent classics, you are welcome to have them screened and featured here, I'll create a special category just for these. There are some standards, though, as this is a family oriented site, so anything that is shown here must be neutral enough to be enjoyed by most everyone of any age.
I hope you enjoy this site as much as I enjoy putting it together.
And, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
